It was on my fifth birthday that Papa put his hand on my shoulder and said 'Remember my son if you ever need a helping hand you'll find one at the end of your arm.'
I really appreciate artists of the 20th century and I can see a lot of their influence on my work but to suggest that my design only fits within an 'ism' kind of bothers me.
