Coercion may prevent many transgressions but it robs even actions which are legal of a part of their beauty. Freedom may lead to many transgressions but it lends even to vices a less ignoble form.
It is the eye of ignorance that assigns a fixed and unchangeable color to every object beware of this stumbling block.
Whatever the universal nature assigns to any man at any time is for the good of that man at that time.
