Space has always been the spiritual dimension of architecture. It is not the physical statement of the structure so much as what it contains that moves us.
It is not fitting when one is in God's service to have a gloomy face or a chilling look.
If people want to compete for leadership of a religious group they can compete in piety. A chilling thought. Or funny.
