Twenty-eight years in business and you understand the importance of problem solving and the importance of efficiency because if you don't become efficient you don't run a business well and you are out of business. And I think some of those principles could be applied to leadership in Washington.
I wanted to be an English teacher. I wanted to do it for the corduroy jackets with patches on the side. When I got to college as I was walking across campus one day I ripped off a little flyer for this sketch-comedy group. It ended up being one of the greatest things I've ever done.
I've always looked the same. Since I was a child I hated having to deal with my hair. I hated having to change my clothes. As a kid I had a sailor shirt and the same old corduroy pants and that's what I wanted to wear everyday.
