I like singer-songwriters and I find sad songs comforting rather than depressing. It makes you realise you're not alone in the world.

I think sometimes all you need is to hear someone else say the same thing that you're going through to realize that you're not alone. I try to put some sense of hope into the songs into whatever the situation is so that it's not just dirt drudgery and a life of misery.

If I was writing songs just for me I'd only play them in my living room alone.

I want to sell to people my own age because that's the way I write songs.
