Today I too wish to reaffirm that I intend to continue on the path toward improved relations and friendship with the Jewish people following the decisive lead given by John Paul II.

Success always necessitates a degree of ruthlessness. Given the choice of friendship or success I'd probably choose success.

I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it friends make life a lot more fun.

As a child I was given the freedom to explore my passion for acting but I also grew up in a home where there were a lot of rules. I didn't have 'yes' parents.

All my life Americans have been accustomed to thinking of theirs as 'the richest freest' country in the world. By most measurements it was long a contender for that honor and - among the larger countries if equal weight were given to wealth and indices of freedom - probably did deserve to be so described.

It is hard to know how many people do but given that the people are so docile towards the rulers nowadays very few Americans show the passion for freedom that our forefathers had.

Personal technology has given us the freedom of being able to do whatever we want - and in the case of celebrities and athletes whomever they want. But it can also serve as a humiliation jetpack.

To us Americans much has been given of us much is required. With all our faults and mistakes it is our strength in support of the freedom our forefathers loved which has saved mankind from subjection to totalitarian power.

When a truth is not given complete freedom freedom is not complete.

Freedom cannot be given... It can only be taken away.

Anywhere anytime ordinary people are given the chance to choose the choice is the same: freedom not tyranny democracy not dictatorship the rule of law not the rule of the secret police.

Justice is never given it is exacted and the struggle must be continuous for freedom is never a final fact but a continuing evolving process to higher and higher levels of human social economic political and religious relationship.

Personal identity seems like it's just such an American archetype from Holly Golightly re-inventing herself in 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' to Jay Gatsby in 'The Great Gatsby.' It seems like the sort of archetypal American issue. If you're given the freedom to be anything or be anyone what do you do with it?

Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor it must be demanded by the oppressed.

If you want total security go to prison. There you're fed clothed given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.

I love my children. That will never change. I have prayed to them for forgiveness and hope that they will forgive me. I never meant to hurt them!!

Any story about revenge is ultimately a story about forgiveness redemption or the futility of revenge.

And the only thing to do with a sin is to confess do penance and then after some kind of decent interval ask for forgiveness.

Forgiveness is not to give the other person peace. Forgiveness is for you. Take that opportunity.

I really do believe that God is love one of deep affection and grace and forgiveness and inspiration.

And as I ask for your forgiveness I also ask for your support to keep all things in perspective and keep all things in proportion. The good of nine years versus the bad.

One can't relive one's life. Forgiveness is not what's difficult one's always too ready to forgive. And it does no good that's obvious.

I learned a long time ago that some people would rather die than forgive. It's a strange truth but forgiveness is a painful and difficult process. It's not something that happens overnight. It's an evolution of the heart.

The principle that certain sins should not receive the Church's testimony of forgiveness was probably no novelty at all but had been applied in various churches perhaps however with no strict consistency.
