Many seventh graders I know in Illinois as well as around the Nation are studying the Constitution. I was pretty impressed with the quality of education our children are receiving because they had not expected me to ask them about it.

I think we were raised in a nice Texas Jewish family where education was the most important thing and close behind that was the arts. It was emphasized and expected that we'd play piano.

What makes me angry? The education of children. How in God's name can you expect to have a functioning society the way we teach our kids?

To compete in a global economy our students must continue their education beyond high school. To make this expectation a reality we must give students the tools they need to succeed including the opportunity to take a college entrance exam.
