The Islam of the 18th 19th and first half of the 20th century was a poor thing. Nobody bothered about it. Islam was that funny sort of pure system of beliefs that depressed people in the Middle East held as their religion.

It the British System is the most gigantic system of slavery the world has yet seen and therefore it is that freedom gradually disappears from every country over which England is enabled to obtain control.

What we have at present is a system of loss socialism. Whatever goes wrong is shouldered by the general public and anything that works is privatised. Worshippers of market freedom have suspended the most important economic principle: Risk and liability go hand in hand.

True freedom requires the rule of law and justice and a judicial system in which the rights of some are not secured by the denial of rights to others.

The best way to enhance freedom in other lands is to demonstrate here that our democratic system is worthy of emulation.

A free America... means just this: individual freedom for all rich or poor or else this system of government we call democracy is only an expedient to enslave man to the machine and make him like it.

We cannot expect that all nations will adopt like systems for conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.

Well of course I think people can be forgiven. But our justice system is not set up to dispense forgiveness. You can go to the local priest for that.

We have by far the most expensive health system in the world. We spend 50 percent more per person than the next most costly nation. Americans spend more on health care than housing or food.

I think there's a lot of work to be done with our societies. My biggest passions are the environment and health. And when I say 'health' I mean the secrets behind health and our food system.

Corn is an efficient way to get energy calories off the land and soybeans are an efficient way of getting protein off the land so we've designed a food system that produces a lot of cheap corn and soybeans resulting in a lot of cheap fast food.

It makes sense that we came up with our public school system during the Industrial Revolution because it's like everybody is a factory worker eating their terrible food and going back to the room where you're silent and listening to an idiot. That's an epitomizing idea getting called 'Nothing' for your whole high school experience.

But Australia faces additional regional and global challenges also crucial to our nation's future - climate change questions of energy and food security the rise of China and the rise of India. And we need a strong system of global and regional relationships and institutions to underpin stability.

Local and regional food systems are about opportunity.

Well first let me say that I think health care reform is important. It has to be a priority. And our system is broken. The Finance Committee bill is the best effort yet due in large measure to the efforts of my colleague Olympia Snowe but it's not there yet. It falls short.

As you know Social Security functions under the premise that today's workers will help finance benefits for retirees and that these workers will then be supported by the next generation of workers paying into the same system.

In constant pursuit of money to finance campaigns the political system is simply unable to function. Its deliberative powers are paralyzed.

The FHA's success provides strong evidence that government can and should play a role in the nation's mortgage finance system. It also demonstrates that although government intervention in the economy during the Great Recession was messy things would have been a lot messier without it.

Today if you look at financial systems around the globe more than half the population of the world - out of six billion people more than three billion - do not qualify to take out a loan from a bank. This is a shame.

It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system for if they did I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.

I think however that so long as our present economic and national systems continue scientific research has little to fear.

As long as enough people can be frightened then all people can be ruled. That is how it works in a democratic system and mass fear becomes the ticket to destroy rights across the board.

Now we believe that the majority of teachers in America know our system must be reformed to put students first so that America can compete that teachers don't teach to become rich or famous. They teach because they love children.
