In reading the lives of great men I found that the first victory they won was over themselves... self-discipline with all of them came first.

Our bodies are shaped to bear children and our lives are a working out of the processes of creation. All our ambitions and intelligence are beside that great elemental point.

No great man lives in vain. The history of the world is but the biography of great men.

Love is the great miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives.

Lives of great men all remind us we can make our lives sublime and departing leave behind us footprints on the sands of time.

Our Generation has had no Great war no Great Depression. Our war is spiritual. Our depression is our lives.

I think though if I had to look at the role of government and what it does in people's lives I see the EEOC as having much more legitimacy than the others if properly run.

There are good people and bad people in all organizations fundamentally however when you look at the basis of the Tea Party it has nothing to do with race. It has to do with an economic recovery. It has to do with limiting the role of our government in our lives. It has to do with free markets.

In government offices which are sensitive to the vehemence and passion of mass sentiment public men have no sure tenure. They are in effect perpetual office seekers always on trial for their political lives always required to court their restless constituents.

I believe in the America people's ability to govern themselves. If government would just get out of the way and allow them to lead their lives as they choose they will succeed.

Americans want government that is leaner more efficient and less intrusive into their personal lives.

Our citizens are tired of big government raising their taxes and cooking up new ways to micromanage their lives our citizens are tired of big government killing jobs with their do-gooder policies. In short the people are Fed Up!

And I don't think that government has a role in telling people how to live their lives. Maybe a minister does maybe your belief in God does maybe there's another set of moral codes but I don't think government has a role.

But without a caring society without each citizen voluntarily accepting the weight of responsibility government is destined to grow even larger taking more of your money burrowing deeper into your lives.

I've got the greatest job in the world. There's no other job in government where cause and effect is so tightly coupled where you can make a difference every day in so many different ways and in so many different people's lives. It's a great challenge.

When man lives under government he is fallen his worth is gone and his nature tarnished.

Fiscal conservatism is just an easy way to express something that is a bit more difficult which is that the size and scope of government and really the size and scope of politics in our lives has grown uncomfortable unwieldy intrusive and inefficient.

Do we believe that the goal of government is to promote equal opportunity for all Americans to make the most of their lives? Or do we now believe that government's role is to equalize the results of peoples lives?

On one of the most personal matters of our lives our health care President Obama would turn decision making over to government bureaucrats. He forced through Obama-care and I will repeal it.

Every decent man is ashamed of the government he lives under.

Free enterprise has done more to lift people out of poverty to help build a strong middle class to help educate our kids and to make our lives better than all the programs of government combined.

The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest insane intolerable.

Government's first duty is to protect the people not run their lives.

Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power working twenty-four hours a day for good or bad. It is of paramount importance that we know how to harness and control this great force.
