It's time for me to do things I like so I will be happy my wife will be happy my friends will be happy. I just want to do something I'm proud of. It's time for me to change. I could sign with a company for 10 movies and I'm the king of video and so what?

The other two things are... well I had a huge appetite for old black and white movies on BBC 2. At the weekends they used to run matinees and the more romantic the better.

I do other sorts of things. I act in other people's movies. I direct operas. I write books.

Once you make a movie like 'Superbad ' when it's popular and you're the lead you get offered all kinds of things and there's a temptation to make bad movies either for the money or to maintain your relevance in pop culture.

I play Xbox. I have a little boy to look after. I have dogs. You know I have things to do. I would love to be able to sit down and watch something like a movie. I watch my own movies because I have to.

I work constantly but I work at a lot of different things. You know I run a theater company in New York I direct plays act in plays in movies so I try to keep it eclectic.

I always leave that for other people to decide because some of the things I consider to be disasters are some people's favorite movies. And that's what I like so much is that you never know. Something intrigues somebody and means nothing to somebody else.
