Isn't it a shame that future generations can't be here to see all the wonderful things we're doing with their money?

My own nature hovers between neurotic and paranoid. I've developed the habit of mentally listing things that make me optimistic about the future. I do it every day.

I would like to see a future where artists think that they have a right to contemplate things like global warming.

Knowledge about the economy ideas about capitalism and government the future of the world and geopolitics were things I was never really interested in.

Set your sights high the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to happen not in the future but right now. Realize that nothing is too good. Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you or hold you up in any way.

Let others lead small lives but not you. Let others argue over small things but not you. Let others cry over small hurts but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands but not you.

I don't write literary fiction - I write books that are entertaining but are also I hope well-constructed and thoughtful and funny and have things to say about men and women and families and children and life in America today.
