That's the way this business works: if your movies do well at the box office you will be offered more movies. It doesn't matter if you're a nice guy or you're a prick. If your movies do well there's a job waiting for you in Hollywood. It's not any more complicated than that.

I hadn't made a big-budget film and in Hollywood there's a sort of man and boys situation. You're a man you make $80 million movies! As if it's harder to make an $80 million movie. Well I guess businesswise it is because you have more executives to argue with.

More and more major businesses and industries are being run on software and delivered as online services - from movies to agriculture to national defense.

Our perception of celebrities in Hollywood is not the reality. The reality of our lives is so much like everyone else's life. We have family members we love everyone gets up in the morning they have three meals a day and they go about their business.

The problem with growing up in a cafe was the cafe never closed my parents worked every day of the year from morning to night. So it was a big menagerie of kids business and cooking!

It means a lot in my business and its a wonderful feeling to be recognized for what you have done over a lifetime but I didn't go crazy. I still eat my cereal in the morning have a sandwich in the afternoon go to bed at night. You know nothing really different.

I wake up every morning and I feel like I'm juggling glass balls. I live in Los Angeles my business is run out of London and most evenings I'm cuddled up in front of Skype in my dressing gown speaking with my studio in London. I travel a lot my team travel a lot but I wouldn't have it any other way.

When I get up in the morning I brush my teeth and go about my business and if I am going anywhere interesting I take my camera along.

So it's the kind of business where you can't wait to get up in the morning and read the papers or listen to what's on the news and you know how the world's going to change.

And if small businesspeople say they made it on their own all they are saying is that nobody else worked seven days a week in their place. Nobody showed up in their place to open the door at five in the morning. Nobody did their thinking and worrying and sweating for them.

As long as I can make lots of money in other businesses I'll continue to subsidize my own work.

I find it fascinating that a lot of business books that do well are from people who've never made any money in business.

For me the greatest source of income is still movies. Nothing - stocks financial speculation real estate speculation or businesses - makes more money for me than making movies.

For a successful entrepreneur it can mean extreme wealth. But with extreme wealth comes extreme responsibility. And the responsibility for me is to invest in creating new businesses create jobs employ people and to put money aside to tackle issues where we can make a difference.

I call crony capitalism where you take money from successful small businesses spend it in Washington on favored industries on favored individuals picking winners and losers in the economy that's not pro-growth economics. That's not entrepreneurial economics. That's not helping small businesses. That's cronyism that's corporate welfare.

Business is other people's money.

I think that focusing on the money on the business is not enough.

I don't think business news is just for old white men with money.

I'm looking forward to being a mom and a wife and a business owner.

I'm not a businessperson. I have no sense of money. My mom does everything for me. She makes all my decisions for me and even buys my clothes. She's very protective.

My parents were both in show business. My father was an actor my mom an actress and both singers dancers and actors. They met in Los Angeles doing a play together and so I grew up in a show biz family.

President Obama likes to talk about the Buffett Rule. Well here's a Buffett Rule that all Americans should be able to support: mom and pop businesses should not pay a higher tax rate than Fortune 500 corporations like Warren Buffett's.

I am excited to rise today to support National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day. This celebration honors the husband and wife business owner teams whose work helps drive the economy and fuel job growth.

My mom has always said that if I get a big head she'll take me out of this business as quickly as I got into it.
