Being out and about talking to residents and representing their views is in my view as important to politics as the grandstanding that takes place in Westminster.

The Labour party has done more than any other to address gender inequalities through legislation and other means and to increase women's representation in politics which has led to recent increases in the number of female politicians.

I am a part of the political process whether the multinational forces are present or not. Politics is serving the people not chairs and positions.

Whatever your supposed politics are - left right - if you put it in a human connection most people will rise to the occasion and feel the human pain in a way that they might not if it was presented in a more conceptual way.

It is not uncommon in modern times to see governments straining every nerve to keep the peace and the people whom they represent with patriotic enthusiasm and resentment over real or fancied wrongs urging them forward to war.

Several studies and a number of public statements by senior military and political personalities testify that - except for disputes between the present nuclear states - all military conflicts as well as threats to peace can be dealt with using conventional weapons.

The World Trade Center is a living symbol of man's dedication to world peace... a representation of man's belief in humanity his need for individual dignity his beliefs in the cooperation of men and through cooperation his ability to find greatness.

I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given to participate in that work as a representative of my country Canada whose people have I think shown their devotion to peace.

The reason why I'm here today is to explain why I am running and what I will do if you give me the honor and the privilege of representing you in the United States Senate. Now I'm running for the United State Senate for a simple reason and that is...I want to win a Nobel Peace prize.

Peace and abstinence from European interferences are our objects and so will continue while the present order of things in America remain uninterrupted.

But this Veterans Day I believe we should do more than sing the praises of the bravery and patriotism that our veterans have embodied in the past. We should take this opportunity to re-evaluate how we are treating our veterans in the present.

There is a very remarkable inclination in human nature to bestow on external objects the same emotions which it observes in itself and to find every where those ideas which are most present to it.

Our job is to represent the truth of human nature whether you're playing a tender love story that's set in a coffee shop or whether you're in 'The Avengers ' which is set in a Manhattan which is exploding.
