If you talk bad about country music it's like saying bad things about my momma. Them's fightin' words.

Most of the time it's the role. Sometimes it's the story and sometimes it just the paycheck. It's the little movies that come out as stories or the fact that I have work to go out you know what I'm saying you can only be out so long without work you start getting antsy.

I never really got nightmares from movies. In fact I recall my father saying when I was three years old that I would be scared but I never was.

I used to hear about guys who played saying how difficult it is getting up in the morning and now I'm experiencing it those same effects.

When Andrew went with the girls we were talking all morning and he was saying 'It's okay. Just remember we had such a good day. Our wedding was so perfect.' Because we're such a unit together. He made me feel very part of the day on April the 29th.

Oh I have this feud going with the L.A. Unified School District because I keep getting these phone calls saying my daughter keeps missing classes I mean at all hours of the night I had like two calls this morning and I keep calling saying I haven't got a daughter!

I remember being at school during morning meeting and looking around at everybody 350 kids saying a prayer. It's interesting to wake up at 3 in the morning by someone saying they're a reporter and they want to know how you feel. I felt fine but I said 'Well why do you ask?'

I don't wake up each morning saying 'Oh wow it's me. I think I'm the cat's meow. I'm the best.'

And if small businesspeople say they made it on their own all they are saying is that nobody else worked seven days a week in their place. Nobody showed up in their place to open the door at five in the morning. Nobody did their thinking and worrying and sweating for them.

Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day - like writing a poem or saying a prayer.

One thing that people keep on saying to me is that the wealth and the fame must have made up for missing out on my childhood. But the idea of money - putting a price on your childhood - is ridiculous. You will never get those years back and you can't put a price on them.

Sometimes when my mom finds a fun article and really wants me to read it I will. But I prefer to just kind of focus on what I want to do and not really what other people are saying because I don't want that to affect me too much.

My mom's collard greens. No one else in the world can make them like hers. I'm not just saying that because she's my mom. She's got some Mississippi secret. I could seriously eat them every day.

I remember my mom saying that after you have a baby you get really thin. So you gain all that weight and then you just lose it and keep losing it.

As a physician and as a pilot I think it lets me be a pretty good translator having one foot in the medical world and one foot in the flying world. Sometimes when the medical guys come in and speak medical stuff to the pilots the pilots really don't know what they're saying.

Because of my medical and ideological training I am accustomed to saying that life is adaptation and symbiosis.

I have no qualms about saying I am more confident in the medical treatment in America. The breast cancer survival rate is 20 per cent higher than in the UK.
