I respect newspapers but the reality is that magazine 'photojournalism' is finished. They want illustrations Photoshopped pictures of movie stars.

Larry Kasdan has made some of my favorite movies of all time so just to be working with him was a pleasure. Now that I have I not only respect his work but I just love and respect him as a person.

I work on a TV show I love I have the opportunity to do movies with actors I respect and I'm in love with the man I want to spend the rest of my life with who pushes me and excites me.

My father was an inspiration to me I made a few movies with him and I loved working with him. Everything about him - his whole approach to work as well as his love enthusiasm and respect for it and other people in the business - was inspiring. I was very lucky to have him as a role model.

I said 'Brian no one is going to respect me as a mother after this.' He said 'oh no yes they will this is a movie don't worry about it.' But they're not.

I'm pretty upfront about my love and admiration for the military. One of the perks of making movies is that you get to sort of follow your own passions and I believe quite passionately that we don't pay enough attention and respect to our veterans. Not just our wounded veterans but all veterans.

Hopefully this movie will help people understand that if a child is never given the tools to know how to love others and love and respect themselves this is what happens.

We tried to approach this as though there's never been a Superman movie before but at the same time respecting the canon and mythology. There are the pillars that you have to respect and I'm not about to break them. But it is fun for me to bend them and mess with them.

If any movie people are watching this show please for me have some respect. You wanna sell some tickets act like you know what you're talking about.

I try to respect the rules of the silent movies and I tried to make signification to make sense and also the crew were very good and the fact that we shot in LA in the real Hollywood studios and houses. We shot in the bed of Mary Pickford and you cannot be any more accurate than that so that helped a lot.

I always watched movies and rooted for the bad guys you know? I've always been that kind of guy. I still hold some respect for criminals that are good at their jobs.

He's a legend and I respect his work so I went down and paid my respects when Charlton was on the set. He was nice but I think he lied a little. He said it was an honour to be in a movie with me but I don't believe it.

That's the most important thing to me - that if I'm gonna spend however long it takes to make a movie give up 14 hours a day for however many weeks or months then it's very important for me to know that I'm working with people who I respect and enjoy and that we're going for something together.

Bad acting comes in many bags various odors. It can be performed by cardboard refugees from an Ed Wood movie reciting their dialogue off an eye chart or by hopped-up pros looking to punch a hole through the fourth wall from pure ballistic force of personality like Joe Pesci in a bad mood. I can respect bad acting that owns its own style.

Then if your movie clicks with real audiences you'll be sucked into some sort of Hollywood orbit. It's a devil of a place where the only religion that really counts is box office.

In the first Spider-Man at the end of the movie Peter Parker had to deny himself a relationship with a girl that he's in love with. The very next thing that happens is that he's swinging through the city.

In a movie like this the relationship between the two guys is crucial. It sinks or swims on how these two guys are together. I think we did a good job.

I think there are a lot more relationship scenes in my movies that people tend to overlook. A lot of scenes really feel real and are about the characters.

In my view relationship movies never get old because humanity will never not be confounded by their relationships.

But it's much more exciting to make Die Hard. One of the reasons that I think that movie is so successful is it deals with those very important blue-collar relationship themes. But it's more visually beautiful to show things blowing up. It just gives you more on the screen.

Relationship movies are often made for a female audience.

It's something that was very interesting to me to be a part of and all of them again because of the relationship. Some of the superhero movies are better than others.

I had a great time making the last movie 'Eclipse.' We shot my back-story stuff from the 1930's. But I was waiting for 'Breaking Dawn' because I love the relationship Rosalie has with Jacob and the rest of her family and Bella. She also provides comic relief.

Filming 'Eclipse' - Eclipse was my favorite book so I was really excited to start filming the movie. I just love that it's the height of the love triangle. 'Twilight' develops Edward and Bella's relationship 'New Moon' develops Jacob and Bella's and in 'Eclipse ' the three of them are physically together.
